NARRATIVE SUMMARY


Daily Summary of Events

1-5 Apr 69:  HMM-364 flew 778 sorties for 190.7 flight hours, lifting 96.5 tons of cargo, 1,533 troops/passengers and expended 600 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance.  Forty-nine medevac missions carried 37 Emergency, 51 Priority and 27 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operations and Units: Oklahoma Hills, Victory Dragon, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Five enemy fire incidents were reported with no aircraft receiving hits.

6-10 Apr 69:  HMM-364 flew 865 sorties for 220.6 flight hours, lifting 126.9 tons of cargo, 1,545 troops/passengers and expended 450 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance.  Thirty-nine medevac missions carried 21 Emergency, 76 Priority and 67 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operations and Units: Oklahoma Hills, Victory Dragon, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Five fire incidents were reported with the following aircraft receiving hits; YK-3 one hit, YK-1 one hit, YK-9 two hits with one WIA and YK-10 two hits.

11 Apr 69:  HMM-364 flew 89 sorties for 34.8 flight hours, lifting 7.8 tons of cargo and 34 troops/passengers. Eleven medevac missions carried 19 Emergency, 10 Priority and 4 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operations and Units:  Oklahoma Hills, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Four enemy fire incidents were reported with no aircraft receiving hits.  YK-16 broke up in flight, crashed with 4 KIA.

12-13 Apr 69:  HMM-364 flew 255 sorties for 77.0 flight hours, lifting 49.3 tons of cargo, 132 troops/passengers and expending 300 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance.  Twenty medevac missions carried 19 Emergency, 24 Priority and 5 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operations and Units:  Oklahoma Hills, Victory Dragon, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Six enemy fire incidents were reported with YK-12 7/8 receiving 3 hits.

14 Apr 69:  HMM-364 flew 100 sorties for 30.5 flight hours, lifting 15.2 tons of cargo, 161 troops/passengers and expending 950 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance.  Fourteen medevac missions carried 15 Emergency, 6 Priority and 3 Routine evacuees in support of the following Units: 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Seven enemy fire incidents were reported with YK-2 receiving one hit, YK-4 several hits and YK-5 being shot down with 3 KIA and 3 WIA.

15-20 Apr 69:  HMM-364 flew 792 sorties for 307.8 flight hours, lifting 135.1 tons of cargo, 961 troops/passengers and expended 520 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance.  Fifty-nine medevac missions carried 48 Emergency, 44 Priority and 48 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operations and Units:  Oklahoma Hills, Victory Dragon, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Eight enemy fire incidents were reported with YK-15 receiving two hits.

21-25 Apr 69:  HMM-364 flew 562 sorties for 174.0 flight hours, lifting 48.8 tons of cargo, 726 troops/passengers and expending 1,406 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance.  Forty-eight medevac missions carried 59 Emergency, 31 Priority and 44 Routine evacuees while expending 2,250 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance in support of the following Operation and Units:  Oklahoma Hills, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Nine enemy fire incidents were reported with YK-20 and YK-19 each receiving two hits and YK-4 several hits.

26-30 Apr 69:  HMM-364 flew 574 sorties for 169.2 flight hours, lifting 34.5 tons of cargo, 895 troops/passengers and expended 1,575 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance.  Eighty-three medevac missions carried 51 Emergency, 33 Priority and 84 Routine  evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Oklahoma Hills, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Eleven enemy fire incidents were reported with YK-2 receiving one hit.

To recap the month of April, HMM-364 flew 4,017 sorties for 1,109.3 flight hours during the period with an average availability of 8 aircraft, lifting 6,117 troops/passengers and 515.1 tons of cargo.  269 medevac missions evacuated a total of 806 evacuees of which 269 were Emergency, 255 Priority and 282 Routine.  A total of 5,801 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition was expended.
